POSITION SUMMARY The candidate will be a key and highly visible member of the Operations Finance group, working as a leader in the organization, overseeing general operational postings and working closely with the director and other managers in the team to streamline processes. The work requires a high-level of Excel competence, process orientation, problem-solving ability, attention to detail, strong organizational and leadership skills. An ideal candidate possesses a solid accounting background, an out-going personality, effective communication skills, thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment, and bring a true passion to their work.  Cost accounting background and/or manufacturing / operations background is a plus.  Preferred CMA or CPA candidate with strong accounting background.  This candidate must be comfortable with innovative ideas, validating assumptions, and constructively challenging the status quo to ensure that plans are aligned with overall company objectives. RESPONSIBILITIES Lead a key portion of the Cost Accounting team, streamline processes and realize efficiency gains. Manage Bulk Cost Accounting team; responsible for: Ancillary Services Bulk Costing and Analysis Bulk Inventory and Analysis Bulk Variance Analysis and Reporting Both material and overhead Lead bulk cost accounting reporting efforts, working closely with Operations Finance and FP&A leadership to develop and maintain reporting and processes Manage relationship with Operations teams responsible for bulk inventory, blends, and Ancillary businesses Cross functional role with other managers in both the cost accounting group and the greater operations finance group. Work closely with reporting function to streamline inputs Oversee month end close process / Journal Entries, recons Work cross-functionally with general accounting, technical accounting, winery support Develop tracking reports and analytics to help identify opportunities Identify and develop tools / processes to enhance analysis, reporting, and forecasting Ad hoc analysis to support key business decisions (i.e. financial modeling) Special projects as assigned PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree in finance (MBA preferred), accounting, economics or business preferred, with 5-7 years of financial experience. Preferred General Accounting and/or Cost Accounting background Highly motivated, results oriented individual who excels in a dynamic environment. Proven analytical skills, attention to details, and a solid knowledge of key finance and accounting concepts. Aptitude to set priorities while managing multiple tasks, as well as proficiency for follow-up. Individual who can take a project from inception to completion without extensive supervision is ideally suited to this position. Strong communications skills, both written and verbal. Proficient PC skills: MS Office - predominantly Excel (pivot tables, filtering, and look-up formulas). Experience with Hyperion, JD Edwards, and Insight reporting tools Experience with legacy AS400 (RPG) systems PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be at least 21 years of age. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
